Legal cannabis is a new market and there are tons of products going from very bad (or scams) to the highest quality oil produced in high-tech laboratories. When we talk about scam products we are referencing to misleading hemp oil products that are copying the style, marketing, and presentation of CBD oil.

“It happens all the time,” said Rino Ferrarese, COO of the medical marijuana extractor CT Pharma, who is frustrated by hemp oil benefits low-quality and tainted products flooding the CBD market. Under Connecticut law, Ferrarese’s company must ensure their products match the labels on their bottles — which they accomplish through pharmaceutical-grade extraction. Thanks to the “miracle” of reproduction, a hemp crop can start off making only CBD and then unwittingly turn into a THC-laden field of marijuana. “Marijuana” is any cannabis plant with abundant amounts — technically, more than 0.3 percent — of the mind-altering drug THC.

There is no way for law enforcement to determine which part of the cannabis plant certain CBD products are made from. Even if a drug test is administered, CBD probably won’t show up unless you ingested a high amount.

Pennsylvania Statute § 3802(d) makes it a crime to drive if there is any amount of cannabis, or cannabis metabolite, in the blood. Nevada Revised Statute § 484C.110 makes it unlawful to drive with 2 ng/mL of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis) or 5 ng/mL of 11-OH-tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis metabolite) present in their blood or urine.

Medicines that contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) can be prescribed in Croatia to patients suffering from chronic health problems such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and AIDS. Regulations limit the quantity to 7.5 grams per month, and patients can receive a prescription of up to 30 days.

One of the biggest challenges the nascent industry faces is proving how CBD has been extracted, as the product isn’t regulated by any governmental entity. Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in the cannabis plant.
